The Mixer that House Built: Rane MP 2016

In 1999, Rane released their first rotary DJ mixer, the MP 2016. Modeled after the popular Urei 1620 and the legendary Bozak CMA line of rotary mixers, absolute favorites within the House Music community. The MP 2016 was designed to fill the rotary mixer void created by the late great Bozak mixer series and the discontinuation of the Urei 1620 in 1993.

Spring, 1986, Rane first entered the DJ mixer market upon request from Richard Long of Richard Long & Associates (RLA). Richard Long was a famous sound designer for the biggest names in disco. He designed systems for Studio 54, Annabels (London), Regines (a chain of 19 clubs around the world including Paris, New York and Cairo) and many others in the vanguard of the disco era.
