Congrats!! All the 2-channel lovers will be happy with the MP2014… as for us 2015 users we are still in love with our mixers and most of us use at least 3 channels with the SubMix as an FX Send/return. According to the techspecs looks like it’s a smaller MP2015 without the Sub, 2 channels instead of 4 and no SPDIF inputs for the main channels (only on session input) not a downer but for those who’ve been dreaming of a 2015 at a lower price this is the answer and the AD/DA converters are top notch.

Only 2 questions

1. headphone/cue select- is it a switch like in the diagram from Main/Split/Norm or simply a Split button? Most real images show a button, so got a lil confused there

2. FX button goes directly to the loop? So there’s no wet/dry control?

Thanks Shaun & Rane team!

Well done guys. But I guess the people would have expected a lower price for this version. Am curious what reactions this one will create.

Is the separation of pre/post USB channels possible to integrate this into a MP2015 update?

Glad you like it maDJam!

1. The split cue function on the MP2014 is identical to the MP2015. When pressed, CUE in on the left ear and Main is in the right.

2. Yes, direct loop. All wet/dry control are done using the controls on the effects unit.

Thank you krizm0! :)

The MAP (minimum advertised) price is $2000, but most retailer will sell is for around $1800 (or less). Think of $2000 like the sticker price of a new car, there’s lots of room for bargaining.

By pre/port USB channels are you referring to the extra set of RCA inputs (AUX 1 and AUX 2) on the rear?

No, I mean the USB channels (Record) 1-2 and 7-8 for example. This sounds like it is possible to enhance the submix buttons of the MP2015 to “send” the signal of a channel pre or post the “Mix” knob to the submix.
It looks like that this might be possible to implement a “pre/post” function to the submix. For example to configure the submix buttons via the control panel to send pre or post.
But I guess, I mix things up here cause the submix has nothing to do with the USB channels.

So assuming it eventually gets Scratch Pro certification from NI, will the sound card be able to handle…

- 2 DVS decks
- Traktor effects as sends
- Traktor mix recorder

If not, can the 2015?

Yeah, the Submix is a record output channel only. The only channels allowing for pre or post are the USB inputs for channels 1-4.

Yes, to all that :) Just like the MP2015, minus a couple decks.

Forgive my ignorance, but would you mind expanding on that a little, please…

To clarify, 1-2/3-4 would be used for timecode signal in/audio out and 5-6 as the source for Traktor’s mix recorder.  What would be used for the effect send & return?  The only channels left are Aux Playback (5-6) and the two separate channel rec outs (7-8, 9-10).

Sorry if it’s obvious, not my biggest area of expertise!

My bad, I thought you were referring to something else. I suggest using the Traktor effects internally and not try to route them through an “effects loop”.

Just purchased the MP2014 and I was surprised to find out that Serato is not yet supported (unless you have an external box).

I assume this will be added at some point?  Any details to share on that?

Thanks much!

Hey congrats on the new mixer!!

Last year when the MP2015 was released it wasn’t supported by Traktor or Serato but by June & August both supported the mixer.

The Rane guys try their best but at the end of the day it’s just a matter of time for certification (& firmware update). Hopefully a few months wait like we did last year and you’ll be as happy as we are with the bigger brother ;)

That’s what I like to hear.  Thanks for the quick reply!

I would be surprised when the MP2014 will not be certified when the MP2015 is.
Both share the same hard- & firmware architecture. I think it is just a matter of time.
